Escort Max 360C install assistance

I am going to mount this under the mirror and would like to tap into the power behind the mirror so I don’t have a cord dangling. I understand that power from here will be live at ignition. Correct?
1. What is the proper way to get the mirror plastic cover off? Are there any videos?
2. What do I need to purchase to tap into the power and what is the procedure?

This will be installed in a 2022 Ram 2500. I do not have the digital mirror.

I am sorry if this was gone over in another post. I did some searching and could not find an answer. Thank you so much for the help.

It just slides/unsnaps off. Not sure what trim level you have but the attached should help.

I have the Blendmount as well. I installed the smart cord for my Escort and ran mine to the 12v receptacle at the top of the dash, pulled the 12" radio to gain access. I pulled the plastic shroud off my rear view mirror to mount my dash cam. No idea how I got it apart, too many beers during the process most likely.
