What is the best cheapest tuner for someone to get that doesn’t want performance gains, just want the truck to run with emissions parts gone for off road use only. Or just to program the egr not to open

I have been told by a few reputable shops that the only newer additions to the 19 Rams is the exterior looks. The 2500 6.7 could use any 18’ delete kits, straight pipe, etc.

I always ran a Smarty because it truly left NO FOOTPRINT on my ECM. I however did purchase the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty so I was considering running the Stealth Module to help boost fuel economy, reduce turbo lag, and give me better response but I don’t think that eliminates the EGR like you’re looking for.

EPA just recently passed crappy new law. I was only going to get ride of emissions after warranty to get better mpg and save money on def

I’d definitely recommend looking into Stealth Modules. I’m right there with you on the fuel economy, etc. I drive slower than most (55 on the freeways in the slow lane) and to and from work I’m sitting around 24-26 mpg throughout the work week. I would gladly spend the $600 to go up to 26-29mpg with no footprint while maintaining warranty. As far as def I am sitting at 3200 miles right now and am having to fill up my def for the first time. Mostly highway miles from what I hear limit def consumption and dpf becoming full.

I’m right there with you. My drive to work is 24 miles. 20 miles of it are 55mph flat state route. I just drive the speed limit and get great mileage outta everything I drive. I hope I’m Doing ideal driving for the emissions equipment

What kinda truck do u have. And the entire engine is different in a few ways then the 18’s and I’m sure the programming. I prolly wouldn’t ever try a 18 programmer

2019 Ram 2500 Laramie.

For what ever reason this site isn’t letting me post the links to the website for both the Stealth and Smarty for our years. I found both links for you but can’t post them. I haven’t the foggiest idea why though.

i've read the stealth modules knock the regen'ing out of whack. that's obviously just innerwebz feedback,
but worth a bit of research.

Knock it out of wack in what way? Do you happen to have a link for those inter web? I’d love to look into that as well because I’m really close to purchasing said module.

nose around on the diesel forums. seems as thought they increase regens for whatever reason, in some instances.
i've been debating on getting one to try out, myself... that's where i read some of the here say...

That’s just it. I’ve been doing months of research and contacting independent companies through different emails re wording and asking the same questions to see if I get the same answers. I have rarely seen any negative speculation or reports from Stealth. Non existent actually which is making it that much harder to decide on buying. Every product has verified pros and cons but I can only seem to find cons. I think the biggest con I am waiting to see is someone actually voiding their warranty from installing the product.

I do not believe the stealth won’t void the warranty. Like others have said, if it comes to a major break, they will prolly check the parameters and see things were out side of stock. But I don’t wanna get into that arguement

That’s just it. The claims of leaving no footprint and no way of viewing if something was done is too good to be true. I understand it doesn’t alter the ECM or PCM what ever the hell it is that has to be unlocked. From my understanding and code background it doesn’t flash the computer but uses the OEM code and just slightly tweaks them to improve combustion efficiency and things of that nature without raising rail pressure, boost, etc. all while keeping the factory safety parameters in tact.

I heard they didn’t get mpg gains I would guess ram would set them up to be efficient as possible. Other than the egr. Love to have a dummy plug for it and have it closed off and tell the truck it’s good

I’m with you there. Especially since all that EGR is doing is slowly sanding down the cylinders with that “recirculated carbon gas”. I’m trying to find the video I saw of the independent lab that tested out the long term effects these systems have on diesel motors and man was it not pretty.

I’m too much of a chicken to get one until I find at least 3-5 reviews on people using them, something happening, and their warranty not being voided

i hear ya. my last cummins was a 5.9 cr. i'm REALLY hesitant to risk any chance of voiding the powertrain warranty through 100k miles,
but if this is safe, i'm happy to try it.

in my experience, the dealer, if they *want* to dig hard enough, can find most anything that has been manipulated from an ecu standpoint.
so, i'm happy to wait for additional feedback.

Same here. Recently traded in my 04’ 5.9 for the 19’ 6.7. Same fuel economy in the OEM 19 as my tuned 04’ so I’m content at the moment.
