Well I’m having a good day today. Long story. 2019 ram 2500 with a Leer canopy.

Went to the garage, notice the tailgate is slightly open but the canopy door is holding it up. Open the canopy and the tailgate falls open. Weird I think. Maybe I didn’t close it well, shrug.

Go to grab some groceries. Get out, walk around the truck, oh look, the tailgate is slightly open. Open canopy and close. Go to open tailgate, tailgate release button does not work...

Double click the release on the key fob, tailgate drops. Pressing the button on the tailgate does nothing.

Oh well, just going to grab groceries and deal with it later. Hit lock on the key fob, the lights flash, but I notice the doors don’t lock. Hmm, hit it again, they lock. Oh good.

Coming back out to the truck to load groceries. Hit unlock, doors don’t unlock...try a bunch of times, nothing. Lights flash but stays locked. Had to use the key in the fob to open the door.

Start the truck, it tells me the parking sensors are unavailable. Then it tells me there is an issue with the trailer wiring. Drive home. Tailgate is slightly open again...grab the spare fob to test if it will lock and unlock. Nothing.

I just recently got the Leer canopy a couple weeks ago and they wired in the keyless entry to work with the trucks keyless. I assume this is this issue. Truck is going in on Monday for them to take a look. Hopefully it’s nothing major.

I understand they wire into the driver door lock wiring so I would suspect a hack wiring job botched something up.
