I was about to start replacing my Nexens with 255/80R17's but noticed that the rim is too small for the recommendatioin from most manufactuers, I know they would fit, but kinda hesitant to do that and regret it later.

So started looking aftermarket. Though it seems most offsets seem to have a pretty signigicant poke/stance. Just wondering what people are running for a flush fitment? I daily mine and I don't have much additional width beyond the fenders to get into the parking garage at work. Height wise from the factory 32(ish)'s I've got about 6" of clerance, so could go to a 34-35 without too much pain (stock height). So was seeing what people are running. I had a look here, but most posts are either max tire size on stock wheels or SRW related.

Cheers

Found a post with this suggested size;

Wheels - XD Machete Dually Black Front 20X7.5 +142 offset. Bore = 121.5
Rear Outer - 20X7.5 -152 offset. Bore = 121.5
Rear Inner 20X7.5 +142 offset. Bore 121.5
Tires - Falken Wildpeak A/T3W LT275/65R20

**Note, though the Bore size does seem wrong, should be 142mm. As stock offset is 136mm, This does look like a combo that would work out.

Went a different way than whats above, went 8.25"-ers, specifically Vision Rivals. I was about to go Fuel Mavericks or Cleavers, but their 2,500lb rating was too close to the GAWR for my liking, where as the Visions were 3,750lb closer to the 3,415lb (Dual) rating of the Toyo AT3's.

Hopefully my offset calc are right otherwise might have some issues, but from what I calcuated with the offsets I selected I should be *just* flush.

Also found a tire size that should match the overall height of the 20's but in a 17. So that should save purchasing a 7th wheel, and at least with the 136mm offset I know it will fit everywhere in an flat situation.

@Limited22 will do

Wheels shipped today, 659lb shipment o_O should be here either friday or early next week
putting off sorting out the spare till they arrive and I can check with a tape meassure for actual diameter.

Wheels and Tires arrived today, no damage by the looks from their travels to TX from CA.
I don't think they understood my "all valve stems to point outwards" request, but can sort that later, likley because of the Mopar TPMS they should have installed

Should have them installed tommorow afternoon or Friday.

I went with 17x6.5 Ion Alloys and Toyo AT3’s in 255/80/17

Well, some good news and some bad news.

Good news is, the wheels look great and the stance is about perfect for what I'm after. Its practically flush with the OEM fender flares (picture bellow, still on a jack).

Bad news is, there is no gap between the inner and outer. Checking with the company I purchase the package from to validate as it should of been compatible for an even wider tire. Potentially incorrect offset inner.

Damn. I’d be interested in what they have to say. I talked to a guy at Vision and he said I’d have the same issue with 181 Haulers as the stock wheels. Looks like I might have to go DDC wheels.

Wow, that's not good! My 17" Ions are spaced properly, and they are just tucked into the fender.

Going to re mount and measure tonight, I think the 156 offset is correct for the inner, these are 110

That stinks they are touching because that setup looks so darn good! Love how it sits right at the edge of the fender or ever so slightly beyond it! Hope you figure out why they are touching.

Maybe I missed it, did you end up going with a 275/65r20 tire on them then?

Yeah, 275/65 R20 Toyo AT/3
im looking to switch to the same tires for my truck.. could you tell me what the total height of the tire is? im curious how those compare to the 35x12.5x20 muds im running currently. How much did the set run you?

You can look at DDC Wheels...no spacers, adaptors, or offsets to calculate. They are specifically designed for the truck. My tires are 285/55R22's, you could put a 275 on to suck it in a little narrower.

I think that is what he was trying to avoid though. Your wheels have a standard offset to them, and that offset makes your wheels stick out a long ways past the fender. Whereas his are flush with the fender if you take a look which is what he is after.

So I had the option of an inner spacer, but have opted to switch out the outer for one with ~20mm more offset. Downside is they are on backorder, but its the outcome I prefer. So on hold for a whole unfortunatley.

Which wheel did you decide on? Or is it the same design with different offset?

Its the Vision 401 Rival, the ones I was sent were 401H2880BMFR (-145mm offset), after a lot of back and forth, were going for 401H2880BMFRL outers, with a -166mm offset. They will poke out a bit, which wasnt what I intended, but the higher offset innsers (156mm) would rub against the inner suspension components. Its probably the best outcome for the moment.

Likley if you went ~245/255 width tires the -145's would be fine. I also hear the Toyo AT3 sidewalls are pretty agressive in comparison to some others on the market

Pulled the trigger on Ultra 17x6.5 with Toyo AT3 255/80-17. I went with the 6.5 because I did not like how my other set of toyo's were wearing on the stock 6 inch wheels, (& I wanted different wheels). I will see over the winter how the front wear pattern is. For the inners I used f350 steels, because they are 6.5 wide & have just a little more offset than the stock steels (Ram 136mm, F350 142mm). I am happy with the gap between the duals and the tires are still under my fenders so no added rock throwing.IMG_4100.jpegIMG_4101.jpegIMG_4102.jpegIMG_4103.jpegIMG_4099.jpeg
