So I'm working on adding the DRVM to my 2024 Ram Bighorn and am having issues with it working.

I have the rear view mirror, the fakra cable, and the third brake light all connected. The mirror is giving me the camera not connected error label, and I can't seem to get the camera to work. The third brake light works fine, and the mirror appears to be functional.

Is there something I'm missing? Yes, these are ebay parts but everything appears to be working.

Did you make any changes to the BCM? Im not sure if the system needs changes made.

What are the part numbers of the CHMSL and mirror you are using?

You’ve got a mirror that is incompatible with the camera. The CHMSL has a mirror camera that only works with a 2023-2024 digital mirror, and the mirror you have is a 2021-2022 mirror.

Well hell....whats the correct part number for the mirror I need?
 
The easier way to go is to get the correct CHMSL for the mirror you have, which is 68465998AA.
Otherwise, if you get the correct mirror for the CHMSL that you have, you will also need to get the camera processor that is required for the 2023+ DRVM and cameras, along with a custom harness for that.

Out of curiosity...what is the difference between these two? They look almost the same and appear to have similar connectors. Pretty new to RAM (came from GM) so any advice helps.

Also...would this mean that the cargo camera couldn't be added later?

The mirror manufacturer is different for 2023+ and uses different proprietary cameras.

Now that you bring up cargo camera, do you not have the surround view camera system?

Then that particular CHMSL with cargo camera can only be used with the surround view camera system, so you would have to add the whole system for that cargo camera to work.

If you plan on getting the cargo camera to work, but not adding the surround view camera system, then you’ll need to use this CHMSL instead:
68465999AA

Mopar’s pricing structure on the CHMSL’s with cameras are probably the strangest of all parts.
You also have to be careful which CHMSL you choose because there are 2 different cargo cameras- one that works with surround view, and one for trucks not equipped with surround view.
So, there are actually 5 different CHMSL’s with cameras to choose from:
1) 68523966AA ($660)- this one contains only the analog cargo view camera, and is the one that you would add to a truck that didn’t come with one, or is equipped on trucks that have cargo camera without surround view.

2) 68465999AA ($375)-...

Well I ordered the 68465999AA so I'll let you know when it comes in!!
 
Update....thanks to Jimmy07 for the guidance! I ordered the right CHMSL for my truck and now my digital rear view mirror works perfectly!!!
