Driving in Tow mode all the time?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but my search turned up zero results. I found great info on running the EB full time and other questions I had, but not this one.

So, my last pickup was a '21 Tundra that I would put in tow mode every time I drove it. I liked the firmer shifts and was always taught that firmer shifts meant less disc wear on the clutches.

Curious if any techs can confirm that the Ram tow mode can increase transmission life, or if there are any negatives to driving 100% in tow mode.

Some folks like it, I find it too aggressive for everyday driving empty especially with the EB engaged. I found it wasn’t really needed unless I was towing 4K+ lbs or wanted the higher shift points for rapid acceleration in traffic.

Aside from some fuel mileage being lost there aren’t any downsides if you like the shifting.

Upside - sportier shift, EB use/vanes stay loose if used, added braking, less wear on service brakes.
Downside - potential to wear the EB actuator motor faster if TH/EB used together. Fuel usage.

I normally use TH with EB on around town, like the EB grab. Really depends on traffic.

Now that my truck lost 400+ lbs. and got trans tuning the exhaust brake works way stronger/ quicker. No more using tow-haul unloaded because it locks out 6th. Once I fingered out what was goin on I’m loving it. EB stays engaged after key cycles so that’s a bonus.
