Hey, my truck had the DPF gauge sit at 0 for 30,000 miles, and now all of a sudden it's varying between 5 and 25%. (?). There's no indication it's doing a full regen (is there supposed to be?). I took it out and drove it 50 miles on the freeway hoping it would purge itself out but that only got it back to 5%. If I go get an OBD scanner can I force it to do a manual regen and get it back to 0%? I, like everybody else, just want the truck to run forever without replacing the DPF and am not in a position to delete the truck. Tell me more? Thanks!

Pretty normal for some buildup if you’re not towing a lot. Regens rarely happen when the DPF gage shows some soot accumulation more common when 24hr of engine run time has occurred. Cold air affects soot accumulation as the exhaust system is not as hot as during the summer months. Condensation has to burn off and out as well. If it nears full you will get a message to keep driving until it’s ran it’s course your typical regen won’t say that, you can interrupt it a bunch of times without I’ll effect.
