Door handle piece

I'm upgrading my Tradesman to the proximity entry and have a question on the right front door handle. There's a piece of plastic with a magnet attached to it that I don't know where it goes or what it does. It was attached like in the picture when I pulled it out of the box. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't remember seeing that piece when I did my doors. It may be a random piece that just so happened was attached by the magnet during packaging. I do remember the only difference in the drivers and passenger front door handle was the key for the drivers door.

That's what I figured. We tried every way possible to figure out where it might attach and nothing worked. It got put together without it so hopefully it's just an extra part. It is a pretty strong magnet for such a small piece
