Hey hey. Lived in CA all my life and trust me, I hate the BS about it more than you do. Best/Worst place without a doubt. Luckily though I live in a county that still believes in freedom and life is pretty damn good. Wife, four kids, too much acreage to stay on top of, firearms dealer and lover of all things two wheels. I drive a 2017 Power Wagon that I love to death (especially with the lifetime warranty I have on it) but unfortunately I need more payload/towing capability. Posting here first before I post it in the marketplace as requested. Nice to meet you all.

Turn off the news guys. I promise you freedom still exists. Maybe not to the fullest extent but man, I feel pretty free in the way I live.
I don’t know. I was just at my building Department applying to get a building permit. I’m pretty sure freedom is in big trouble.

Kern and Tulare county are a few of the heavy ag cultures left in the state. Because of the ag economy they lean heavy red and have pro 2a sheriffs.

Isn't that pretty much true throughout the ag valley?

I seem to recall Modesto was pretty 2A friendly when I was there a few times for work many years ago. If not, perhaps the Proximity to Sacramento is "problematic" to coin a lib phrase.

Between Bakersfield (the grapevine) and Fresno is the major part of the Central Valley, this and as you get into Redding and top of California are the most American parts of the states. San Diego is more red than blue but not by much. Also basically all the mountain regions are red. I drive up and down the state all the time and crossing county lines can almost be like crossing state lines some times with how different things are.

Edit just to add just like almost all the mountains regions are red, most of the costal regions are blue.

I had the privilege of making the acquaintance of a couple of farmers in the central valley a few years ago through equipment transactions. So yes, I can attest that there are some really good folks out there and they said things were pretty normal up where they lived and not to judge them by the actions of those along the coast and in the large metro areas. It's a shame all the population lives in those areas and drives policy for the entire state. I feel for all the good folks in that state. Many are held there by family, jobs, holdings, etc. with no real option to move away. I worked for a company for 19 years with corporate offices in the greater LA area and I still know several good people there. They tell me I wouldn't recognize the place now. I imagine many will move away when they retire. Sad state.

Geographically, most of the state is red.

The pockets of population are blue (San Fran, LA) and that's what drives the elections.

Crazy, but is what it is.

Seems the pendulum is swinging though... at least in National politics, so we'll see.

Same as Colorado.

Although it started turning purple in the first half of 2000's and the governor seat flipped back blue, it has now gone full blown crazy thanks in part to an influx of "coasties" from both coasts that lean far too left. We do have many Californians that escaped with their libertarian or conservative values, but the state is lost and Polis an team Soros are turning into the Rocky Mountain California. Subsequently I believe many of them are now fleeing to Texas.

The problem her and TX is the coasties that already ruined their state are also moving and bringing with them their politics, trying to change their new home into exactly what they left. Like a swarm of locusts.

I hate it that Colorado is turning to California East. Several years ago I started making an effort to go on some decent hunts there, invested in different gear for mountain hunting, etc. Now I can hardly stand to go there. I even run into libby freaks out in the wilderness now. Now I have a pile of elk preference points that need to be used up and I can't even get excited about it anymore.

That's a bummer I can't draw any tags, I'm jealous! Use them or can I borrow your ID?

CA is crazy! But here in orange county we are mostly conservative. My favorite thing to say now to employees when they ask for a raise because of gas, "sorry we voted for this, maybe this should be a lesson" and I carry on with my day mumbling Trump baby!
