Does L3 get surround cameras? And a question on the 12" screen

Does the L3 include 360 degree cameras? The Ram website isn't very clear, but I would imagine it would. I'm currently also planning on the safety group, if that helps.

And does the 12" screen let you select a view for the top and a different view for the bottom? Like GPS for the top and Music for the bottom? It looks like the pre '22s do, but I can't figure it out for sure on the '22 that I ordered.

If I read it correctly, the only way to get the surround camera system on the PW is with the towing technology package? That's pretty bad that the nearly $10K for L# doesn't include it. Can anyone confirm before I change my order?

It doesn't come with it. You have to add the tech package. Not every truck can come with every option. Not even the limited comes with the 360 cams. I got my level 3 a few weeks back and I don't have it.

Thank you, I think I might remove the safety group and get the tech group.

I have a 22 PW and have the 360 cams. The packages I have : L3, Towing Tech and Off-Road. I can’t say if they come if you don’t have these packages. It appears to me you need the Towing Tech for the 360 cams.

Yes, you can customize and create custom pages on the 12in screen. One layout you can do is split top/bottom, so you could have Nav on one half and Media (Music) on the other half. Not sure if this is a function of a particular package or not, but Iam able to do as I described.

Ask your salesman to verify what package you need to have the cams..

Yeah screw that safety group.
Looks like the safety group really only gives me adaptive cruise and adaptive steering, which I don't want, compared to the towing tech which gives me 360 cameras and blind spot monitors, which I do want. Guess I'll let my dealer know to change the order.

Once you have Adaptive Cruise you never go back, I wouldn't buy any new vehicle without it.
I appreciate the thought, but I have it in my Pacifica and hate it. I always just use the regular cruise, and my wife told me she doesn't like it either (it's her primary vehicle) so why pay $2K for something I don't want.

Yeah you get stuck going 5 miles an hour less than you want to for ten miles. Not to mention it causes you to pay less attention to your driving. The one nice thing about it is if you have to follow someone for a distance.

Quite honestly, I don't even like cruise all that much, I feel out of control, and even less in control with the adaptive. I also think the adaptive on the Pacifica applies the brakes when going downhill to keep your speed at the specified mph, which I don't like because it is a waste of energy.

not to mention the a**holes that cut you off, squeezing in and end up pushing you farther and farther back as the adaptive opens up the spacing.

All you gotta do is modulate the gas pedal, close up the space, let it brake for you, etc, it's a little slice of heaven.

The space is adjustable and the closest setting only leaves room for the aggressive drivers. If you're closer than that, you're following too close.

This too if needed, "driver override." By "brake," those with diesel trucks running the EB, it is biased towards using the EB before brakes to slow you when needed.

I wouldn't have ordered mine without the safety package. Apart from the adaptive cruise control, it includes things like auto high-beams, blind spot coverage (very, very useful) and rain-sensitive wipers, among other things.

My truck came with all that stuff and I didn’t have the safety package.

bsm was on restriction but the rest you mention was standard equipment on mine

Interesting. Since I don't have it yet, I can only go by the description on the build site (which should be accurate).
But since I frequently follow traffic on two-lane highways, the adaptive cruise control will come in very handy.
