Does anyone have experience with Resistall NG2 paint protection?

I just purchased a 2021 3500 Mega Cab, and I noticed that the dealership included the "Resistall NG2" paint protection, and interior leather and fabric protection. It "Guarantees" the paint against tar, sap, bugs, etc. for 5 years. Normally I would have declined this, as most of these last minute add-ons are just a money maker for the dealership, but I didn't notice it until after they had applied it. (Same goes with the "Nitro-Fill" tires... oh well).

I was planning on shelling out the money to have my truck Ceramic Coated after I bought it, but now I'm debating if I should wait, since the Resistall actually includes a warranty.

Does anyone have experience with this, or have any feedback on what Resistall actually does? I did a little bit of research on other sites, but I'm curious if anyone else here has it.

Mmm....how much they wack yah for it? I would think a professional ceramic coating would be better, likely a bit more expensive though.

It was $695...

I haven't gotten an exact quote for Ceramic Coating yet, but based on prior cars, I know it would be at least over $2k where I live.

I mean no offense to anyone when I say this but it probably isn't that this is a bad product but you have high school kids that don't make jack for money applying this to your brand new paint, right over rail dust and all.

I inquired about some Xpel paint protection through a local shop and the guy was great to talk to. He said when you get the word that the truck came in tell the salesman to put a hault on them even washing it. They do much more harm than good, advising that a strip and polish followed by a quality sealer is what new vehicles need. He also said to skip anything they had to offer for paint protection. Yes, he was a business man so take it for what it's worth.

To follow up on dealer prep/delivery on a new vehicle.....it's kind of important that it is clean so you can do your walk around. The condition of some vehicles upon arrival to the dealer is horrendous. I will likely let them wash and unwrap things but thats as far as that will go and again, just so I can inspect the truck.

If you've researched it you have likely found it's not a bad product, but not necessarily a good product either. I've found it really doesn't protect any better than a good wax. Certainly not comparable to a professional ceramic coating.

It's an insurance policy basically with some fairy dust protection spray. However, if you check BBB, getting a claim processed is a pita. You basically have to file with BBB to get anything done.

Likely wasn't worth $700, but maybe $300. The spray bottle paint protection does go on easy and provides protection and shine similar to other spray waxes.

Ha. Yeah, no kidding. Dumb mistake on my part. I've never overlooked this before, but I've also always made my purchase in person, where I have the opportunity to turn things down. Oh well, it's a good lesson.

Figured I would throw this up as we were discussing dealer installed options/price gouging.

This 1500 is on my dealer's lot with a factory optioned sticker price of $45,xxx. They threw on some wheels/tires (ok wheels and junk rubber IMO), a 2" lift kit along with some Nfab steps and proceeded to bump the price up $8995, bringing it just over $54k. That is $1k more than my very loaded 2500 Big Horn order came out to. Insane for a half ton truck and someone will buy it.

I gave my dealer very specific instructions to not wash my truck when it arrived. Don't wash it, don't put your dealer stickers on it, don't touch it. I don't need a 19yr old kid coming over to wash my truck with a rag that has 10 other trucks' dirt on it and swirling up the paint.

When I went to test drive some trucks, I saw one particular Patriot Blue Night Edition 2500 that had AWFUL swirl marks with 10 miles on the odometer. Huge shame.

I'm going to apply paint protection film to the front bumper and hood as soon as I get it home and wash it, and then apply ceramic coat to the entire truck.
