I have a question , I have a ram 2500 short box with the puck system . I installed my fifthwheel hitch without slider and I find that I am close to my back glass. My distance from the center of my hitch to back glass is 36.5 ". Is it possible to have idea of your measurements?

Thanks a lot!

sorry if my english is not good it is not my official language!!

A standard fifth wheel is 96" wide... A drop-frame widebody is 102".

Half of 96" is 48".

If the fifth has a corner notch, you'll get a little wiggle room but never anywhere close to 90* without contact.

Is the hitch head/kingpin position directly over the axle?

I had short bed with a 96 wide about 2.5 ft pulled it for 5 yrs . Put one small dent in top edge of the cab in a really offset crappy rv park . On level ground I had no problems . When in doubt have your passenger watch it for you.

I had an even shorter bed than was normal with my old RAM. It had the 5'7" bed that was supposedly used on all crew cabs. When I went to a fifth wheel TT, I bought a Reese Sidewinder pinbox. This unit actually moves the pivot point back to right under the pinbox connection at the trailer. It uses a 'wedge' that stops it from pivoting at the fifth wheel hitch. Worked GREAT, I towed my old fiver for over 20k miles with it! Then my wife wanted a bigger 5th wheel toy hauler, so I need a bigger truck.

I happen to have the sidewinder pinbox for sale, if you want to buy it!
