I wouldn't call it incessant complaining. It's not like I'm making multiple threads about it, repeatedly looking for new answers. But if it comes up in other threads, I'm going to address it. I know the "solution", which is not an acceptable answer to me. Others may be okay with resolving the manufacturers mistake, but I'm not. If more people held companies accountable, instead of finding work arounds, then they'd produce a better products or at least stand behind the good ones that have mistakes.
To be clear, I'm not saying the Ram is a bad product. I really like my truck, and the RSRA is the only complaint I have with it. This was clearly just an oversight in programming for about 3 months. They could easily do the same thing everyone it telling me to do, and activate the option. If I can do it, they can too. I shouldn't have to do it though, it's there mistake.
But I'm not just talking about RSRA when I say people should hold companies accountable either. It happens all the time, with any number of things, on any number of products. People don't want to have to fight with a company, or take the time to do it. So they just fix the issues themselves, thus allowing companies to ignore their mistakes (however minor). Will FCA ever resolve this for me? No, I think not.
Sadly, exactly what I expected would happen has. I no longer "hear" the chime. It still does it, I've just gotten used to ignoring it so it doesn't register with me. If I pay attention, it's still there. On the upside it's not so annoying now, but what if there's a chime I should pay attention to? I won't register it because I've been trained not to. This has become an anti-safety feature, just like I thought it would.
