I'm playing hell driving at night with this stupid 12" screen. Its nicely laid out but I was very reluctant and I hate it at night. Its way too bright.

I go to setting and its on auto dimming. I change it to manual and it will only let me turn down the "daytime setting to 1". It blocks out the nighttime setting and I'm unable to modify the nighttime settings. Anyone know how to dim it or get it to the nighttime mode?

You tried the Theme Mode setting? There is light, dark, auto. I leave mine in dark. I believe you also have to mess with one of the dimmer wheels next to the headlight knob.
I'd like to turn off the back up cam at night when the trailer is hooked up. Lights up the cab making it harder to see in the dark outside the cab. Have a tight spot to back into.

I had this same issue - there are two roller/dimmer knobs to the left of the steering wheel. The right one controls your instrument and display brightness, make sure its not in the detent postion all the way up, if it is, it wont auto dim.
I keep mine in the brightest setting before it clicks to detent and it auto dims whenever it gets dark enough. That should solve it for you.

Somewhat related - the sensor on this truck is awful and understanding when its day/night. Drive through a tunnel itll go into night mode and it takes forever to flip back to bright.
