Diff Lube

Hi everyone, I bought my truck used 2019 Ram 2500 HD 6.7L Bighorn and wanted to change oil from the engine, fuel filters, transfer case and both diff. The truck was build on Sep 2019 , so is the truck considered 2019 or 2020 . Now I read a lot on this website that some use 75w85 gl5 on their diff (mine is standard) others use 75w90 gl5. I don't tow almost at all and truck is for personal use only, can I use 75w90 gl5 fully synthetic non-mopar on the truck?. Never had a diesel truck before, so I'm still learning. Thank you.

It should be in the owners manual but yes 75w90 is good if you have the anti spin rear end you need to add friction modifier or use gear oil with that already in it

I guess I should have mentioned that I did read the manual LOL, and it does give you one option 75w85 gl5 and my build sheet shows standard diff no LSD.

Yes anti-spin is the LSD.

The owners manual calls for 75w-85, but you can also use a 75w-90 instead. 75w-90 is often easier to find.
