My 2017 diesel goes into preheat mode no matter the outside temps. It used to do this below 40 degrees f. Now I have to used the button start twice to get her going,if I don't she will start after a few moments..Any answers? Batteries are 2 years old.

The temp that triggers the WTS light is 66° in the intake.

If it happens above that, such as on a warm engine restart, then it could be the IAT sensor… but the ECM does monitor sensors for comparable readings on cold soaked motors.

Intake air temp sensor is usually the issue but hook a scanner to it and see what the IAT sensor is reading before the truck is started. If its above 66° or atleast close to ambient outside temps then its not the issue
