DEF LIMP MODE CHANGE

Any one gotten the limp mode change, computer flash, for low def from 40 miles uped to 4200 miles as was ordered by the EPA a few month ago

There is a thread on it awhile back when it was being announced. TLDR version is that it gives the manufacturers the ability to retrofit prior models with the updated values but doesn't legally require them to do so. Will have to wait and see if Ram even offers to do that in the future vs they don't and its a sales tactic to sell new vehicle in 202X when they implement it.

All we can do is hope . I use Rislone def additive to mitigate the crystalizing . I had the sensor falling to empty when it actually had half a tank left . I started using this and the problem went away.

I thought I saw one of the intact aftermarket tuners stating he was going to work on getting the approval to roll it out before the oems would (if they do at all)…

It wasn't "ordered," or made mandatory in any way, shape, or fashion for prior model years.

I can tell you that those motor home owners will be screaming if they are not reflashing or whatever it takes to get that changes retro adopted . They seem to have the most DEF problems . Probably from having it in their tanks for so long .
