I have a question about curt puck system. 2019 ram 2500 whit puck system short box 6'4'', i'f necessary to use a slide. Because when I'm put information on curt site the puck system adapter for slider system is only system fit on the truck.
Anyone tow whit curt whit puck system adapter have a feedback!

short answer is yes you need a slider, unless....you buy the rail kit and purchase the anderson ultimate the no slider required.

this is why i bought the long bed.

A slider is not always necessary, it all depends on the fifth wheel you want to tow and how tight you need to turn it. I am currently pulling a 2004 Jayco with a "square" nose so I have to watch when I make turns that get close to 90deg. My next fifth wheel will have a molded, rounded nose with the "cutouts" for being towed with a shorter than 8' box truck. A co-worker of mine has a newer fifth wheel with the molded nose and a 2016 Ram, he has a slider hitch (Curt I think), but has never used the slider feature.

Like @foneguy said, please consider the Anderson Ultimate hitch. I pull a 5th wheel in my short bed with the Anderson. I love it.

No moving parts. Quiet. Light. Won't rust.

the only reason i didnt do the anderson, only because i didnt want to but the rail system for the ram puck, and then the hitch. but if i went with a reg bed i believe that would have been a no brainer!

How much is the Anderson rated for? I ordered mine with the 30K hitch because my 44’ toy haluler weight 16900 and 3300 cargo capacity putting it over 20K. Also why I ordered HO towing pkg and 4:10 gears related to about 34K

The gooseneck ball version is rated at 24,000 lbs GTWR and 4,500 lbs tongue weight.

The rail mount version is rated a 20,000 lbs GTWR, 4,500 tongue weight.

You don't need rails depending on which version you get. Most people are going with Aluminum Ultimate, which uses the gooseneck ball as its attachment point.
