What’s a average cost for an oil change and a fuel filter replacement.

I've seen $400-$425 posted here and there for a Mopar dealer charge.

The fuel filters are ~$100 cost for the pair.
Oil filter ~$15
12 qts Rotella T6 ~$65

The rest is labor unless you DIY.

Do it yourself
It’s EASY

Order your filters from Genos Garage and oil for whomever you prefer.

I run Amsoil in my vehicles but I still am WAY under what they charge.

Went to the dealer once for an oil change 3 trucks ago. It was part of the deal when I bought new.

Glad the changes on the Hemi aren’t that bad. Two changes so far (with tire rotation) at about $110 each.

Those are the first times in nearly 20 years I’ve let someone else change my oil, but unfortunately full-timing it in an RV doesn’t leave me with a place to change it myself.

$65 for full synthetic in the Hemi and tire rotation (plus tax/disposal fee) here. Even so, I still miss my 2 years of Jeep Wave...

I dont let dealers touch my trucks unless its free(check work after and ask for old parts to be placed in bag in back) or something only they can do(warrenty/computer). I learned real fast dealers dont due work they charge for! New oil never changed filter, never greased fittings, even had one tell me on my wifes truck that air filter needed changed it "was terrible" i told him wow hard to believe that a k&n can be that bad when i cleaned it myself 5000 miles ago...they should be charged with theft, they just take $! On a side note i use to run a aviation QA department so i take maintenance and quality seriously so do my own if possible.

Now on the oil change--The new Gen RAM 2500---------WTF??? I did my first change @ 3000 miles, when they redid the front frame you literally dump the oil from the filter all over the truck to get it out from the fender well---WTF???? That is a real safety issue,,, as you can dump oil onto the caliper or when it dumps down on that cheesy little catch pan the oil will inevitably end up all over the bottom of your truck. Over time even if you wipe the pan your never going to get it all and it will end up looking like my neighbors ole tractor!

Given your credentials, I'm very surprised you would choose to use a K&N. They do flow more (dirt) than just about any other filter.

The dealer told me I have a free oil change at 5000 miles on my new truck. So we will see. I will mark the oil filter.

My last few oil changes on my 2013 RAM 2500 was done by PEPBoys. I was in there to buy the oil and filter as the Shell Rotella was on sale. So I told the work side that if they could do it for $20 more than what it cost me to do it myself, they could do it. The usual price was $140 for the diesels. They did mine for under $90.

John, That one works for us. I just changed mine last week at the 6K mile mark. It works fantastic ! Then, you can fill the new filter with oil and screw the tool on. Tip the filter sideway's to get it in through the wheelwell, unscrew the tool and install filter. Not 1 drop was spilled.

Thanks - didn't know they have such a thing - great idea!
Why do they say in their video. "for 2013 - 2017"? Are 2018 -2020 using a different filter? Or?
Watcha think?

Cummins oil filter hasn't changed in forever, since like 1989.

Fleetguard Stratapore LF16035 (or mopar equivalent)

Love the k&n in gassers, i live in a high dust area(ridiculous at times) so its nice to just clean filters regularly rather than throw them away.

I think the services are well represented here. Well, that is unless there's a Puddle Pirate hanging around, they don't count. :p
