So I'm sure it's been mentioned before but when I do a search it doesn't come up. When we got our truck a year ago everyone was saying make sure you use a synthetic oil with the MS12633 specs. However when I chatted with Mopar they are saying MS-A0921.

Is this one and the same? Looking for 0W-40 I guess? Where is everyone finding this and where is the best price?

Thanks in advance.

Yes and pennzoil ultra platinum is good oil that meets specs amazon has good prices

I use Redline 0w40. 30k so far and no issues.

Mine has been sensitive to anti drainback valves in the oil filters though. Seem to have the best luck with regular Wix filters. Had some like the XP and Purolator cause a startup tick when brand new cause they wouldn’t keep oil from draining back. Regular Wix has been great.

Odd the XP would drain back they should have anti drain back like the regular wix…

I should clarify.

The XP also has an ADBV but I had more instances of a cold clatter with them than the regular Wix. Not sure why. I even cut them apart and as far as I could see the design was the same...

The other thing that made me switch is the filtering ability. I like shorter drain intervals and as it turns out the XP, having a synthetic media, doesn't filter as well as the regular one until some of that medias extra space is taken up by debris (kind of like a K&N air filter). The traditional WIX filters better right off the bat and since I change my oil (way too often....) it just made sense.

I buy NAPA filters, supposed to be made by WIX, so you feel the gold filter might filter a little better than the platinum (synthetic) on short drains ? I change at 5k with PUP. Thx.
