The engine block heater for my gas engine came as an option I couldn't delete even though I got none of the other winter options. And I live in California. In one of he warm bits. And I usually didn't use one on a gas engine when I was in the cold, although I guess it will be nice.
But Ram was wiser than I was because I might actually need it this winter since I have to go stay in one of those freezing interior states. So time to ditch the shorts and flipflops and winterize.
The truck has the heater, obviously, and it has a cord extending from the engine to a placement on the front bumper. Will any of the cords that have AC plug at one end and the odd one at the other, used on diesels, work for the gas heater? they look like just dumb extension cords with the unique plug at one end, and there are tons of non OEM ones for about $20. That's what I'm curious about, NOT the Mopar 68409909AC, which is the cord already installed.
