Recently had 4.44 installed and did a break in fluid change per my installer. Front was really clean while the rear had lots of copper bearing looking material? Nothing is copper or brass in the diff that I’m aware of. Sent pics to the installer but wanted to check with yall. Have no noise or sounds I’d be worried about. thoughts?

Maybe I can't see it because I'm on my phone, but what truck do you have? I was wondering what you put the 4.44 gears in.

I wonder if they were using a brass drift to replace the bearing races or to turn the adjustor wheels? There shouldn't be any brass in the diffs

Bingo. That’s what installer said it was from replacing the bearing races.

Yukon and AAM make them for the 11.5” rear and front now. MUUUUUUCH better with the 40s.
Looking at both websites, neither show an option for the front?
Guess it is a call them thing?

I thought the same too but i would have hoped if he is using a brass punch he would be cleaning up the mess after! This is why i started using aluminum round bar as my soft punches it just stays together better.

I’ve got nothing but great things to say about the shop and the owner. Add that Randy’s recommended them says a lot to me
