Converting Tradesman Chrome to Sport/Night Edition

I’ve gone through the threads here and can’t find anyone that’s tackled this before, then again the search function on this isn’t great either.

I’ve got a 2020 Tradesman with the Chrome. I’m looking to outfit it eventually as a Night edition but first want to get the Sport Group thing done. It’s the Black Metallic.

So here’s what I believe I need for the color matched first Sport Stage:

1. Main Bumper Front- paintable
2. Grille Moldings upper, lower, lower left and lower right in black
3. Rear Bumper Paintable
4. Grille Molding Front Center painted Gloss Black
5. RAM Emblem painted gloss black

Is the Tradesman “Grille Front Upper” (main grille) black the same part as the Sport Package or Night Edition package? Just the flat black honeycomb deal? If so I don’t have to swap that out.

Then stage two would be the tail lights, hood side badging, Cummins Logo and rear tail gate Rams HeadEmblem (other badging on tail gate goes bye bye)

As for the dually wheels, would gloss black powder coating a steel wheel with the round holes (like the aluminum ones) pretty much look the same as the Nighthawk black dually wheels? I ask because I eventually want to go with 19.5 rims and Michelin commercial tires when this crap on there now wears out (again).

Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist with steering me in the right direction.

Oh and where is a good place to list (other than say ebay) the chrome pieces taken off? I’d imagine anyone looking to add them to the Tradesman flat plastic trim or from an accident would find value in them.

@Rockcrawlerdude - SERIOUSLY love the transformation of your truck! Nice work.

Did you paint the original chrome pieces or purchase paintable parts?
Thanks man.

I painted my chrome. Plasti-dip to be exact. Been 18 months and I have two or three rock chips and it’s maybe time for a touch up soon. Cost is about $20.

Vinyl wrapping is an option but I don’t have the patience for that and don’t like paying people to do things for me.

Paintable parts and paint shop is expensive my quote was $2300

I kind of like the chrome. Im planning on doing the front window tint and flat black wheels. Going to change over the hood decals to black or paint them.

I have the same truck and plan to plastidip all the chrome as well. Glad I found this. Wasn’t sure how it would look with the black paint but I think it looks good

I gotta admit I like the moose mirrors now that I have them.
I still like the moose mirrors over the new tow mirrors purely from a looks perspective. Maybe the new ones will grow on me, but I feel like the lines are too blocky for the truck. They are a rounded rectangle while the rest of the truck is flowing lines, and it kinda bugs me. Maybe in a few years I'll feel different, who knows.

I used to make fun of the moose mirrors and dodges pulling ghost trailers with mirrors out.

But now I have manual fold+ flip moose mirrors and only the top glass is power and I understand why they stay out all the time.

I've always thought the mirrors functioned way better when flipped up. Heck when they're up and I don't have a trailer on I don't even need to head check when they're set up right. (i still do LOL)
