Conflicting psi for tires?

My 2022 tradesman came with the LT275/70R18E OWL On/Off-Road Tires. The stamp on the tires reads max 60 psi. They were aired at 75 rear 65 front from the dealer. When I aired them down to 50 all around (was looking to soften the ride a little, not towing) the tpms light came on and got a message on the dash to inflate rear tires to 65 psi. The tires are rated for 60 max but the truck computer wants them at 65 minimum. I assume this is because the computer thinks there are different tires on the truck, but these are the factory installed tires that come with the truck (snow chief and off road packages). Is this a programming error that the dealer can/should fix so the tpms warning is changed to accomodate the tires that came with the packages installed? I’m not going to be hauling or towing anything heavy, and will likely be swapping the tires out for 33” KO2’s eventually, won’t need to running 65-75 psi.

pretty common for folks to buy their favorite programmer and lower the TPMS threshold so they can run a more suitable psi for what they’re doing.

I wouldn’t inflate the tires over the sidewall stamp psi

Tires are rated at 80psi not 60, inflate to 65 then drop em to 60 until you get a programer or similar that can lower the PSI to a lower threshold

My BFG's have a max of 65 PSI.

But I run them at 45/37 most of the time as I'm not hauling anything. Seems to give me the best contact patch, tread wear and comfortable ride.

I used a AlfaOBD and lowered my TPMS to 25 psi. so I wouldn't have to worry about the nanny light. ;)

I would go to the dealer. I have never heard of an “E” rated tire with a max tire pressure of 60 psi. Also not ALL “E” rated tires have a max pressue of 80 psi. An “E1” rated tire has a max pressure of 80 psi, while an ”E2” rated tire has a max pressure of 65 psi. You can either get an AEV ProCal SNAP or an AlfaOBD programmer to be able to adjust the pressure the TPMS Warning Light comes on at. Out of curiosity what brand are the tires? Literally have never heard of a 60 psi setting for an “E” rated tire.
