I have a 2014 2500 Tradesman crew cab. I bought it 3 months age. It has 70,000 miles on it. Every time the underside gets wet (I.E. car wash, rain, etc.), there is a clunking sound when I step on the gas or brakes or go over bumps.
Is it possible that the rubber bushings are bad or need to be lubricated with silicone spray or WD-40 ?
Could the shocks be going bad?
I am at a loss. I need to know it is safe for towing my 5th wheel this camping season.
The truck was from Arizona it whole life and now is in Pa.
Any help would be greatly apricated.
Thanks

ADDING TO THIS I just looked under the truck and it looks like the shock on the differential is leaking fluid
Could this be causing the problem??????
Thanks

A blown shock could cause that noise.
I had a 2014 2500 which had two recalls one being the cab mounts and the other was a track bar mount recall. I would look into those if the shock isn't your issue. I had the track bar recall done which pretty much ruined my truck due to an inexperienced tech. He drilled the bracket holes wrong which caused the additional installed bracket to move around on the frame mount.
Hopefully yours is just the blown shock

did you ever find out what the sound was coming from? I have a 2014 2500 tradesman crew cab 4x4 and it is doing the same thing. the shop said all the u joints were fine.

There was a recall on the 2014 cab mount bushings, I had mine replaced. I would have the dealer check the vin number to see if that was performed

I checked all the recalls for it but it doesn't show up as being done but also doesn't show an open recall on it either. I have an appointment with the dealership Friday to get them to look at it

It may have been a service bulletin. I'm not sure it effected all 2014's but from what I remember it effected several from that time.
The cab mounts made more of a popping sound so it could be unrelated. Hopefully the dealer figures it out
