It seems like people are pretty split in the other posts and like both seats. If I am going to be using this truck primarily for recreation (camping, skiing, going to the lake, going on road trips) where sometimes we may be a little dirty or wet, which seat option is going to be more durable or easy to keep clean? I am thinking between Big Horn seats and Laramie seats. Thanks

Laramie seating is bonded leather and suede (also synthetic). Big reason I passed over and went to a Limited.

I did think long and hard about just doing a well optioned Big Horn, but wanted the AC butt coolers and a few other things.

IMHO, if you're going leather, go Limited. if not, stick to the Bighorn cloth.

Cloth is "modern cloth" and cleans up well. Not like the old cloth in a '88 Cutlass or something haha.

If you find a good Big Horn, pull the trigger knowing you can get factory fit Katskin leather for it for like $1k if you don't like the cloth.

Ok...still seems like it can go either way :) I don't really have a preference of one over the other, it's just to the point where a Big Horn with all the options I want is around the same price as a Laramie with the same options. I guess I will have to go sit in them each again and see which is more comfortable.

I've had leather in all my vehicles for 10 years until this tradesman.
I only use this as a weekend tow/hunting rig as well. So far. The seats are comfortable and easy to keep clean. Less maintenance than leather. Hit em with a vaccum and your good. My kids are also older where spills aren't really happening.
Pleather/leather shine when you have moisture/grease. Or you need a soft breeze across your nether regions. I also noticed the leather quality took a dive in 2013 on laramie. You get nice ones in longhorn/limited though.
Only other thing I've noticed is katzkin might be a better option anyway on a laramie. Get custom seats that way.

What about for pets (dog hair or dogs on the seat)? What is the better option for that?

Leather, but only if it’s higher than Laramie. My Laramie seats were trash and started peeing after 25k miles

Reading all of this is really concerning, but I am seeing several posts about these Laramie seats peeling or otherwise not holding up and not a bad thing about the cloth Big Horn seats. This is really starting to scare me away from a Laramie. I wasn't planning on one anyways, but then I thought the prices were pretty close between the two after all of the options, but even if they are, the Big Horn might be the better way to go. Are people just abusing these or are they falling apart even under normal use?

I thought I wanted a bighorn because I knew I wanted body color bumpers and all that jazz and I found a bighorn that had pretty much everything I wanted. Then I went and checked it out and hated the console. The tradesman has more room with the front bench seat. The tradesman and the bighorn have the same seats if you get the level 2 T man.

Do you mean you hated the console with the bucket seats or the bench in the Big Horn?

The console and bucket in the big horn was a turn off for me. I opted for the bench seat tman but I upgraded to the 8.4 because I really liked that about the bighorn

Is the bench different in the Tradesman vs Big Horn (besides the material)?

Only 103 miles on my Big Horn with premium bench but they are very nice. Drivers seat is 8 way power. Haven't tried the heated option yet and haven't even had cooled seats so figure we can survive a few more years without that.

For someone going the Katzkin route, what can you expect to pay? Not an exact number, but more a range.

Cloth is terrible if you have dogs, camp, get in and out dirty, sweating, etc... They will look like nasty in about 4 years if you are using the truck for a lot of outdoor activities. My Jeep has butt and back stains in it for life and it takes a pair of tweezers to get out all the German Shepherd hair out of the seats, lol.

For the Tradesman Power Wagon I ordered, I could not get leather, only cloth and vinyl. No brainer. I went all vinyl floor and seats.
