I would've ordered my '22 Tradesman with the 12" if I knew it was available...

I don't even have the NAV. I still love my truck. I don't care that I have Poverty Knobs to adjust the heat and A/C, as another member so eloquently stated!

I think the one option I miss having the most is the steering wheel stereo controls

I have had both and I actually prefer the poverty knobs. Lol

I agree, so much easier than searching the touch screen for the correct buttons!

What are y'all on about?

The 12" has the following hard buttons:

Temp Up/Down (dual zone or sync)
Mode
Fan Up/Down
Auto
Front (defrost)
Rear (defrost)
A/C
Recirc

Only the seat heat/cool is in the climate and/or control menu. Direct access to MAX A/C is also on screen (I think mode presses will go to it).

This is a new option for 2022. I'm not sure how many people wil take it, but It is available to order as a 2022.

The configurations really get weird with tow technology stuff, technology in the mirrors, cameras, etc. That is when it gets really goofy.

Not sure on their reasoning, but I agree with them lol. I had a 12" in my 2019 limited and hated how the hvac, and heated/cooled seat controls were setup. Between that and having no jumpseat option I ordered a Laramie. Physical nobs were much easier to control while driving IMO. And I absolutely hated there was no simple dedicated on/off button without going through the touchscreen. Never had any issues with the 12" not working (like so many others have had) , just hated the layout

On/Off for the HVAC or radio and/or screen?

I thought I was gonna be upset about everything accessed thru touchscreen but as you pointed out everything I ever use has a hard button. Even “OFF” is as simple as fan down and hold. The heated seats and ventilated seats get a shortcut at the bottom of the screen for 1-touch always there access (I switch them out in summer / winter)…

Despite the feature differences, some prefer controls that can be worked with gloves. I totally get that.

Sure absolutely. No judgement there. That was the Tundra’s logic with their 6” diameter knobs!

For me, my gloves are filthy and there’s no way they’re staying on inside my truck.
