So I live in the North of Canada. I've owned my truck for 6 months on only hand washed it for the first time the other day. I went though a couple car washes in the south but it was pretty much dirty by the time I got out of my truck so I didn't notice this before. It looks like a big dirty rectangle. It's right under the clear coat. They body shop said they have seen it before and they have to repaint the door. The paint is new so it should match. Anyone seen this before?

It’s like one of those magnetic logos people slap on their doors to advertise their business was sitting there for a while. FCA better cover that.

Clearcoat job is to protect paint from UV color shift. If that area was indeed covered by something, the clearcoat didnt do its job on the rest.

You could be right. The dealership are covering it 100% and a courtesy truck when it's in the paint shop.

Dealer admits that this is known problem and is quick to pick up the tab for the fix. Wouldn't that kinda imply that they know what causes the issue? Weird...

Wow, sorry to see that. It would be interesting to know what the cause is. I agree with Sqautch, looks like a logo or maybe a dealer advert left on for too long. Hopefully you can get it corrected to your satisfaction.

Dealer had my truck repainted on the drivers side. Crappy pic but the body shop did a good job. Debaged the sides but I still have to do something with the hood badge and remove the ones on the back. Had them color match the Ram on the tailgate. Need to clean it this weekend.

Everyone, just once, should visit Yellowknife in Jan. Subsequently, everywhere else is tropical-like.

I would like to visit the NWT some day. Farthest north (in Canada) I've ever been is Ft. McMurray in Alberta.
