Change in Cummins pre-heat cycle after Y76 recall?

I have a 2021 CTD and had the Y76 grid heater relay recall completed a few weeks ago. Relay tested ok. Since then I've noticed that even when the truck has been parked for hours in 30-40 degree temps, it never does the manifold preheat/delayed start cycle. Before, it would do the delayed start occasionally. I've checked with the dealer, they advise there was no change to the programming on this as part of the the recall, and if there is an issue the truck will throw a CEL (which it hasn't).

Have others who have had the grid heater relay recall completed noticed this? Everything seems fine otherwise, but it seems odd to me. Thanks for any info- this board is a great resource.

It goes by intake temp i usually dont see it run on my 19 SO till 0*C (32*F) id say you are fine

I also had the recall done (relay tested fine) and am in the Denver area so I would be experiencing roughly the same temps as you lately.

My truck has done the pre-heat cycle a few times now but only after sitting for a few days (I'm not running it as much right now) and usually only if it hasn't sat in the sun for too long yet, like early morning at sunrise. Seems to be the same as before the recall. It'll skip the pre heat if it's been in the sun for a bit, even after sitting for a few days.

I would say you're fine. Once we actually get some real snow I bet you'll see the pre heat cycle.

Mine seems to be cycling the grid heater a lot more than before I had the recall done. And it's actually been warmer here sine the recall was done. Go Figure.....

Embarrassed to say that after posting this thread, my Ram ran through the preheat cycle and started normally the very next time I started it. This time it had been sitting out in 30 degree temps for 12 hours, so it must've just not been cold enough before. Unless it throws a CEL at some point, all is good. Not that I might been overthinking things...
