CD Player

Reading all this got me curious, so went out & tried it, but no playback of DVDs - you only get an error read code. As far as the CD player missing, RAM removed the CD player from all 2020 models (1500, 2500, & 3500) & replaced it with a little storage pocket in its place. Guess they figured it was outdated now - glad I got a 2019 when I did :)
x2... I discovered that the only thing that wakes up the otherwise flat sounding HK sound system, is plugging in one of my many decades old CDs.

I’m not sure the 2019s played DVDs, have you seen that done?

My 2020 Limited definitely does not have a CD player. I’m surprised, but not concerned. I haven’t played a CD in years, and when I replaced the head unit in my Wrangler I put in one that didn’t have a CD player.
Interesting. I’m definitely curious to hear the result of your test.
Did it play a DVD???

No go! Put the DVD in and got an error code...same as Mike. CD worked just fine!

Just fill your device of choice (iPhone, Android, USB stick) with high quality lossless files (not ones converted from MP3 or ripped from a CD and you’ll get an even better sound than the CDs can produce.

Not to be changing the topic here, Seeing that apparently the 2020's no longer have a CD/DVD player, how large of a thumb drive can the 12 in display unit read or music files can it see. My last few cars were limited to the size drive and number if songs they could read.

I don't have the 12" display, but the system didn't seem to balk at a 128g thumb drive. Took FOREVER to index it of course. And it just reverts to the first song each time I select that option. I mean I like Pink Floyd but maybe not every time.....
