What are some good recommendations for communication installed and or cellular enhancement?

I have Bao fangs for close range but thinking the more trips to Idaho back country etc might be better for some better equipment.

Baofeng is a ham radio and the only way to get a better ham radio is to install a full transmitter in your vehicle. There is also GMRS.

What is the difference between a "ham radio" and "full transmitter?" Do you mean portable handheld vs mobile radio?

Baofeng radios can be programmed for FRS/GMRS/HAM/Public safety VHF and lower band UHF freqs (scanner), etc.
