Hello fellow HDers!

It’s a mystery to me, this one is. ‘25 with 14 system. Apple CarPlay with Siri is very inconsistent with its volume level. Sometimes I hit the mic button on the wheel to use Siri and it comes on blazing hot, even if my audio is low, other times it’s very quiet. When it comes on hot, it’s almost startlingly loud.

Anyone know why this might be doing this???

Appreciate any insights.

Same thing for me on both my '22 and '25, the first time I trigger Siri (or very rarely the 2nd time as well) its extremely loud then any additional are lower. Never been fixed with any software versions I've run, just got used to hitting/cancelling Siri or lowering volume after first use then back up after.

Just an idea.. Do you have the setting that increases volume with vehicle speed? Is that possibly causing it?

I hate that setting so I have always had it off. I’m not sure how it behaves with car play, if at all.

I think I might have it on, but it’s only set to low. If I recall there are three settings for that, low, medium, high. I will have to double check and see. But it’s not always when I am driving. Sometimes I’ll be at a dead stop and I do it and it blows my eardrums out! Lol.

There is different volume levels for radio vs Siri or phone conversation. There is a setting in the radio where you can adjust those. You can also adjust it with the stereo volume knob while what ever you are using at the time is active. Just a thought.

I'll give it a look. I usually do adjust the volume when it comes on like that. When it comes on hot it really is startling before you can adjust the volume. lol.
