I am putting together a wheels, tires, and suspension setup for better beach/sand handling. Since I will be towing and therefore I am pretty sure I am going with 35's with 17" wheels. For suspension set up though, would it be matter at all for sand handling? Sure the KING setup seem can handle everything off-road but it's also doubling the price.

If you are talking about playing in the sand like Glamis or Pismo then the 2.5" Kings will soak up a lot more of the bumps. You really use a LOT of suspension in areas like that. If you are just going to beach areas that are more flat and don't work the suspension the 2" Fox will be fine. Keep in mind, after the cost is forgotten, most people never wish that gone with a smaller shock. Many do wish they had gone bigger.

Someone from other forum did mentioned that it would be better to go with bigger shock for Cummins due to the extra weight.

If you buy from a notable outfit like Carli or Thuren you will get shocks tuned for the weight (and spring rate) of the Cummins. The spring's job is to handle the weight of the truck. It is the shock's job to control the motion of the spring. Having said that, it is true that a bigger shock can resist bottoming out better if it is tuned for the application. Once again it comes down to how you will use the truck.

Go to CJC Offroad's YouTube and watch all their videos. They cover this topic in depth. I was going to go with the fox set up on my truck, but after stewing over it for weeks i decided on the Pintop King kit. Still waiting in my shocks, so no feedback yet.

I did watched many CJC's video regarding different suspension setup. Can you share what make you change your mind from Fox to Pintop King?

After my research on various forums, i found a lot of people regretted not just spending the money upfront.. .and ended up swapping to Kings anyway after being unhappy with the FOX setup. I didn't want to regret a $3,600 purchase, so i went Kings. I had the money in my budget to do it, so i said F-it and placed the order. That said, the Kings are going to be a couple month wait if ordering now. You MIGHT get them by the end of the year, so that may sway your decision.

Have you decided wheel and tires yet or leave it in stock for now?

I have 17x9 +18 Raceline 950B Gauge wheels on hand, sitting next to the suspension that has came in, still undecided on tires. Either Toyo RT's or Falken AT3W's. 37x12.50 size.
