Cargo Camera Issues - Black Screen in the middle of the day.

So My Cargo Camera is acting up. I have had the dealer look at it and they ended up replacing the camera. but After I picked it up today it is doing it again. What is happening is the following:
Camera functions fine in the morning when I get in the truck, After parking at work. Outside no shade. when i get in the truck to got lunch. around 12:30pm the camera doesn't work. all other camera's are fine. Cargo is just a black screen. Sometimes when I get back from lunch it is working again. around 1:30pm. but it is usually always functioning at the end of the day 5:00pm on the way home.

I feel this started after the last OTA update. but can't prove that. its been going on since at least October 2023. Anyone having similar experiences? Not sure if it is a heat issue, but it has happened when parked in the shade at home also. Any insights appreciated.

Mine is acting very similar, works normally when cool, but acts up when it's In the sun for awhile. When it acts up I can usually get it to work by giving the 3rd brake light a few hits with my fist. I was planning on taking it in this summer when I go in for the recalls.
It's interesting that they replaced yours and it's still having the issue. I wonder if it's a connection issue since mine works with some pounding on it

I tried the Hit it Fonzie Style and it came back on. So a possible connection seems plausible. will see what the dealer says when I go back in.

I am having the exact same issue as OP. Has anyone found a definite fix for this?

No. I got the we Couldn’t duplicate the issue excuse. If I hit the head liner just right I can get it to come on sometimes.

Interesting. I've tried banging on everything when mine goes black and nothing. It seems to work when the weather is "cooler", i.e. in the mornings and late evenings. I haven't gotten around to taking it apart to see if it is a loose connection or something that is causing the issue when it is warmer. If and when I do, I post my results.

Mine seems more random now, I thought it was a temp related issue, but now I'm not so sure, last weekend it was sitting out for a couple hours in direct sunlight and the damn thing worked when I went to hook up my 5th wheel, but then crapped out later in the day when I checked it again. Most of the time I can get it working by giving it a few good thumps, but not always. My next step is to pull it off and do a drag test of all of the connector pins and any other issues that could be there. The only problem is that I put a thin layer of silicone on the gasket to stop any leaks, im going to see if I can use a plastic razor blade to separate it from the body without damaging the gasket since you can't buy it separately

any of you guys figure this out yet, mine is doing the same thing after dealer changed out the rear view mirror cam, dealer just ordered a new camera and will replace it under warranty but someday that will run out
