Carbon Filter/Weak Blower

We've had lots of wildfire smoke here recently so I decided to swap the cabin filter with a carbon/HEPA filter from Oreilly. I've used these on multiple other vehicles without issues but after swapping it out in the Ram the blower output is drastically reduced. I can swap the OEM filter back in and blower output is restored.

Anyone else notice this? Anyone have any suggestions for a better filter that flows better? (I know I want my cake and to eat it too but c'mon....)

I may just run a standard filter and keep the carbon one for smokey days - they're not hard to swap....

Following, theres been a lot of smoke here in WA and was thinking about doing the same, hopefully someone knows of a good option.

You may be out of luck. The better the filtration the worse the airflow, unless you can drastically increase the surface area of the filter to reduce the drop in volume.

I hear ya. Its just frustrating that other vehicles I've put these exact filters in with no problems.

Guess I'll just keep it and do the swap when needed.

I replaced the factory filter with one from Amazon which indicated no loss in airflow..., wrong! Went back to the factory filter and airflow was good again, so good enough for me!
