Can the beeping when in Reverse be turned off?

When picking up my truck from the dealer, he pointed out the beeping when the truck was put in reverse, like commercial trucks have. When I asked if it could be turned off, he thought it could, but we couldn't find it in any of the settings. My truck sits outside our bedroom window, so the wife isn't too appreciative of the reverse beeping at 6am when I head out to work since she doesn't have to get up until 7.

Should be able to unplug the wire connection at the speaker under the truck. My buddy's Ford had the same issue and he just unplugged it

Try setting 9 on the dash display … turn off commercial setting. This controls the reverse beeping on my 2020 3500 …

Thank you, it is now turned off. We had been looking all over the 12" touchscreen options, didn't even think about looking through the dash menus.

That was about the 1st thing I looked for when I got my '20 home. I didn't pay $60K+ to sound like a garbage truck when I backed up. Really annoying in a campground too.

One feature i really like is the abillity to turn it ON/OFF as i use it when i plow in busy areas but its nice to turn it off so i don't wake my neighbors at 4:30 in the morning when i go to leave

It's under commercial settings along with the AUX switch setup (if equipped)

Is this only for Diesels? I am DESPERATELY trying to kill the damn backup beep and have no commercial settings option available to me in either the dash display or 12” settings/apps. I thought by disabling the reverse park assist button (toggle switch) it would be quiet. It doesn’t set off signals inside the truck but whenever it thinks someone/something is too close it beeps as loud as hell outside the truck. I absolutely don’t need or want this “feature”.

Where is the actual sound making device physically located? Can I just unplug a cable or something?

You have commercial settings all trucks do just scroll up with the buttons on the wheel it will be after the screen setup page.its not on the radio its the EVIC The beeper is above the spare tire

The beeping speaker is behind the spare tire. If you remove the spare tire go under the truck and look towards the back bumper and you will see a black square speaker. You can unplug it but like everyone says you can go into your screen and go to commercial setting and turn it off there.

I’ll have to check again in the morning. I scrolled through every main and sub menu in the EVIC - I never saw the word commercial anywhere. I’ll try again and report back. Thanks….

Do all the HD's have this? Mine has never beeped in reverse and I've never seen that setting.

Ram should clarify because I ordered it on my LH thinking it’s when you are reversing and gets close to something it will beep on your Uconnect but instead it’s a garbage truck reverse alarm and it’s really loud especially at a campsite or in the early morning!

well you can turn it off… and its pretty clear as its called a backup alarm so unless you have never been around equipment or commercial vehicles you should know what it is. the rear park sense is what you should have got for back up sensors
