Can I Default to Bluetooth?

I have a 19 2500 Power Wagon and the audio system defaults to Sirrius radio on start up. My trial expired today so I wont be using it anymore.

Is there a way to make the 8.4" screen/system default to Bluetooth input? I do most of my listening on Spotify and rarely listen to AM/FM. Is there a way to add a shortcut anywhere? It's rather lame to always have to go to the media menu, then hit the down arrow so I can select the Bluetooth tab...

From the sister forum:
Problem: Phone is connected via Bluetooth, playing music from phone to vehicle via Bluetooth. Turn vehicle off. Turn vehicle on, and audio reverts to FM radio.

Fix:

1. Sit in driver seat, doors closed, vehicle off.
2. Foot off the break, press start/stop button once to place vehicle in ACC mode.
3. Press the start/stop button twice to turn off vehicle.
4. Hold the Voice Recognition and Green Phone buttons on the steering wheel for 30 seconds, then let go.
5. Open the driver door for 30 seconds, or until the dash display cluster turns off - whichever comes first, then close the door.
6. Hold down the break pedal, and press the start/stop button to start the vehicle normally.

After I did step 6, my Uconnect system quickly flashed through several screens including what looked like a dial pad and the text "enter anti-theft code" (?). It still started in FM radio, but when I pressed the Media icon, it immediately went to Bluetooth (whereas in the past, I would have to hit the down arrow then select Bluetooth). I restarted the vehicle normally again, and this time it went straight to Bluetooth.

We're sorry to hear that you are also experiencing this concern. When you do have the opportunity to visit the dealer, please feel free to loop us in! If additional assistance is needed throughout your dealer visit, send us a PM. We'd be happy to connect you with a Case Specialist to assist.

This is only a temporary fix at best. This is a major PIA.

Anyone found a dealership that can fix this? Is there a uconnect flash available? I don't feel like patting my head, standing on one foot and spinning in a circle every time I start my pickup. Call me spoiled.

This shouldn't bother me as much as it does but on a $60k truck I'd like it to do the same thing that my $30k 2019 half ton with the 8.4 uconnect did.

August of 2021, and we still need to jump through the hoops to make it work. Mine didn't btw. This is freaking pathetic, even Toyota has it figured out already, and they always the last one to join the technology party.
60k truck can't stay tuned to Bluetooth.

Yeah man, that bit of programming is absurd

Is it possible to long hold and drag the blue tooth icon down to the bottom of the screen to at least eliminate going through the media window? I know I put a shortcut down at the bottom of the screen for my back up camera on my 8.4" screen.

I have the 8.4 in my '19 and when I start it the radio is in whatever mode I used the last time I drove it. I also replaced the Sirus button with Bluetooth in the audio quick menu so no scrolling needed when I want to bounce between BT and FM. Your 8.4 doesn't allow for either of those?

I’m seriously considering wiring in an alternate single den deck somewhere just to not have to use the laggy, crappy factory radio, I’ll get no hassle Bluetooth and more power to the speakers.

If you have memory seats it remembers what the media settings are for that profile. Also, it remembers how the custom buttons on the 12" screen at the bottom were laid out. Mine always defaults to Android Auto now.

I guess this is one downside of having the most low tech of options.

Its because of how slow it connects to the phone and when it does not have a bluetooth connection present it wont stay on the source page, i have 2TB SSD for all my music instead of streaming….

I have no issues with mine (12").

That said, I have both memory settings set the same and saved to each remote so whichever remote I happen to use, it's all the same. Seat, mirrors, etc.

If the phone is set to auto-connect AA, it usually (99% of the time but that's a phone/AA issue IMHO) connects AA BT (audio only). If I plug it in without the data blocker, it connects AA screen mirror.

Data blocker?

I checked that my Radio is up to date, but i was not able to do any of the things you have recommended :(.

Data blocker?

Sometimes I just want to charge the phone and not have AA connect and screen mirror. I keep one plugged into the #2 USB port for charge only and a USB-C blocker plugged into the #2 USB-C port for the wife to charge from.

When I want to use screen mirror, I just pull the cable from the blocker and move it over to the #1 USB port.

These are also a must if you're using public chargers.

Didn’t know these were even a thing, thank you
