I get asked all the time what kind of truck bed my old utility trailer is. I always have to say I don't know as I have not a clue. It occurred to me that all the old truck general knowledge here might have a guess? This trailer was old when I bought it for $200.00 30+ years ago but have no idea of the actual vintage. The only thing I did was paint over the old green with that Golden Gate Bridge orange when I first got it. It will soon go to the metal scrap yard I am sure as it is really starting to rust out, but for now I still use it when I don't need to dump or haul anything too heavy. Mainly landscape materials and landfill runs these days.

I never even thought when I bought it that the box might have been from an old truck until people started asking about it. I just assumed it was built by a trailer manufacturer a long time ago and the box was just what they made. Who knows? Maybe someone here!

Looks like a 40-50s gmc box and for what its worth it looks hardly rotted hell we have many vehicles on the road here with half the box left from rot lol

It looks similar perhaps a touch older than the 45 in the attached pics

Yeah the bad areas are the tailgate near the hinge and underneath where the box is connected to the frame.
