Yep. Prices up, quality down.
What prices are you guys finding on average? I am still on the fence about one and haven't visited a dealer yet. Sounds like I need to be prepared so I am not shocked when I go in there!

There are so many variables that go into that. One huge one is location, as price can vary greatly from state to state.
When I was shopping just under a year ago, the quotes I was getting were 3000-4500 depending on options.
Comparatively, when I was shopping in 2016 for my 4th gen, quotes were 2000-3500.
All of those were between three dealers around the Denver area, and prices have only continued to go up.
I looked at ordering from other states to save some $$, but when factoring in time off, gas, food, etc... the residual savings just wasn't worth it to me.
Just looked at a quote for a topper for my last truck (Chevy Colorado, 6ft bed) from 2017 . Pricing was about $350 less for a than V series this year (but that was a midsize truck, full-size may have been a hundred or 2 more). Prices go up over time though, that’s inflation.

They’ve been going up but are definitely ridiculous right now IMO.
Paid $2,800 for my z series back in 2009. I know that was a long time ago but the design hasn’t changed and nothing I see justifies the same cap costing almost $4k today.
