Bypass Cable Not Working?

Hello all. I have a 2023 2500 Limited. I've been trying to do some basic adaptations with AlfaOBD or JScan since I got the truck. Figured out after a bit that I needed a bypass cable, so I purchased one from KaodTech and installed it (plugs in to both white and green CAN). Afterwards, worth multiple OBD adapters (currently using the Vlinker MC+), I'm still unable to get it to work. JScan can't read the VIN no matter what I do, and Alfa seems to have a similar issue where options just aren't available.

My latest project was to add the 360 trailer camera, which I purchased, but which doesn't function because I can't add the module.

Anyone seen bypass cables not working? And what can I do about it?

Thanks!

You probably have the plugs to the CAN blocks swapped. Switch them around and try again.

If you pull out the headlight switch bezel it is easy to see what you are doing although having a flashlight in there helps. The two blocks are close together. I removed the connector lock tabs on the bypass cable as it is a pain to get them out once locked in.

Just gone through the same problem. Found this thread and tried hooking up the terminals in the way that’s opposite from what’s in the instructions and it worked!

Suspect KapdTech folks solder the wires in the wrong order sometimes. Glad it works tho!
