Burnt battery cover

I really can't imagine those thin covers really doing much anyway. Might protect the batteries from engine heat for a short trip but eventually the heat will get through. And the cold will sift right through them. I guess it might give some owners a warm and fuzzy feeling. LOL

That isn’t burned, or eaten. Just deteriorated due to age.

I didn’t try to get it off of the factory battery when I replaced it eight days ago.

Should I have tried to get it off and put it on the new battery?

It helps them be protected from the heat under the hood but really they are pretty useless i have never kept mine
