Hello all,

Bought my Ram yesterday, it is a new 2019 Laramie Sport Mega cab 4x4 Cummins. Walked all around it, found a couple weird things like the Alpine label on the speaker above the screen to be peeling off. I figured this is just due to it sitting in the sun for a while.

Well, got home, parked it in the garage and went to bed. Went out this morning to put my toolbox in, arrange the interior, pair my phone, etc. I noticed a dent, actually 2, right next to each other on the driver side of the rear bumper. Of course, today being Sunday, they aren't open. I emailed my salesman with a picture of the damage and was replied to apologizing to me for having to deal with this and saying they would get with the manager in the morning.

I know for a fact I did not do it. Not sure how I didn't notice it at the dealer, I guess being white it is a lot harder to see than if it were chrome. What is the best way to handle this? Call the manager of the dealer in the morning and discuss? I was considering calling FCA, but I guess I shouldn't do that until there is a problem, or am I wrong?

What do you guys think?

EDIT:

The dealer still owes me my 2nd key as they were unable to find it. They also owe me a set of wheel to wheel nerf bars that they ordered and are going to install in the next couple days.

Sorry to hear about your truck. I had to respond because it was so familiar. I took delivery of my new 2020 3500 Limited on August 1st. They had backed the truck up against a glass wall, so I was unable to see the back bumper.
Of course there were a couple of marks and scratches on it. I had to wait until Monday to call. Basically told I was SOL since I had it for two days. They also were missing the second key. Fleet manager had it in his desk.
They sent it to me on the 15th, unfortunately they sent it USPS mail. No Tracking. It's been missing ever since. I'm now looking at having to have the truck completely re-keyed. Kinda takes the Joy out of a new truck. Hope yours ends up better!!!!

Oh man, so sorry to hear. I hope the key somehow ends up in your mailbox soon. EDIT did you try contacting FCA to see if they would help you with both situations?

Of course this is all I can think about now and its driving me crazy! Of course I have no proof that I actually didnt do the damage, but I know that I didnt. I drove straight from the dealer to my garage and the truck hasnt moved since. When I was purchasing the truck yesterday the manager was very helpful, so maybe with this he will be as well.

I have had an 01, 07, 12, 15 and now a 19 Ram. Prior to this one I had a 19 F250 Diesel and just had to get back in a Ram as soon as I could.

You are right, it kinda takes the fun out of the new vehicle, though.

As far as the paint work goes, I had an appointment with a PPF installer, he said by the time he's done you won't be able to tell. He's done my last three cars and trucks, so I trust it will be all good.
The Key fob, I should hear from the dealership on next steps. Their dealership is 6 hours away from me, so unless the key was returned to them for whatever reason they understand they will be re-keying the truck and replacing the lost fob.
I'll call FCA if I don't hear the right words from them then.

Perspective, I still have to remember it's a great truck, beautiful and I love to drive it!!!!

Update on my situation:

They gave me a rental while they took my truck in. They programmed a new key and removed the dent from the bumper. They then gave me my truck back without the proper steps so I had to go back down to the dealer and have the correct ones installed. Other than that hiccup Im all good now.
