I noticed hesitation from start, tried doing a brake stand after trans heats up and engine goes to 1000 rpm with no power to spin wheels. Took to dealer and they cannot duplicate problem, told me truck will not do brake stand as there is a protection to prevent this. I think the torque converter is bad. Anyone have experience with this

I haven’t tried, as my teens and 20s are well over. But I do believe it’s by design it won’t let you apply the brake and the throttle at the same time. I’m pretty sure if you do it a message about service throttle may even pop up, but it’s been a while since I saw a post like this. Someone once mentioned to turn off traction control and it will allow it, can’t confirm but give it a rip tater chip.

You can apply both brake and throttle no issue but tq management wont allow it to spin Unless you are doing a boosted launch. That i know allows you to spin :D

Was trying a brake stand so see if the torque converter was working properly as there is hesitation when accelerating. Wasn’t trying to do a burn out. The dealer doesn’t seem to care or know much that’s why I was asking.

Thats not a sign of a bad tq converter. The hesitation is ecm controlled torque management. Also some call it dead pedal
