I moved up to my 23 2500 Laramie Sport diesel a couple of weeks ago from my 2013 3.5 Eco-boost F150. Hoping the wife and I can tow a trailer around to see some of our country in our retirement. Ended up with a 2023 because "corporate" wouldn't let my dealer put one of their replacement relays in the 2022 that we had made a deal on. So I ended up getting my silver 2023 sport instead of the delmonico red 2022 sport. I guess it worked out for me I got a 2023 with the new mirrors new sport hood, bucket seats and full console for around $2,500 more. The silver should be a little easer to keep clean looking. I am enjoying the truck even though I am not doing much more than idling around town breaking it in. I have installed Amp Research extreme powered steps, Backflip Revolver X4s rolling cover, and Bedrug. Will be studying posts here for maintaining my new investment. I promise I will not start a new thread about motor oil.

Run it hard for break in dont idle around its the worst thing you could be doing for it

really! That at least sounds like more fun. I have about 300 miles on it now. I will start putting some skinny pedal to it.

Welcome!

The manual for the Cummins mentions there is no break in period for the motor but the gear rings break in over the first 500 miles. Vary your driving speed and dont be afraid to drive it and youll be good!

Like others have said, drive it and don't baby it. These are heavy duty trucks, they can take it and then some. Idling a modern CTD is not a good idea.

Whenever you have to idle just turn on the cruise and hit set . It will bump your RPM's to 1100 .
