I have a 2019 2500 with blind spot monitoring. I understand that it turns off when you have a trailer but I see on my screen options for it while towing that grey out when I plug in my trailer harness. I’m guessing they didn’t get it done in time? Anyone know if this is fixed for 2020 or if there is a work around by adding something or using alfaobd? It would be nice to still have. Just don’t know if anyone figured something out.

The 2020s support blind spot monitoring with a trailer attached. Unfortunately I don’t know if there’s a way to get that to work on the 19s.

I have just purchased a gently used 2019 2500 and just learned about this annoying little bug. I REALLY want that blind spot warning when I am towing, in fact ESPECIALLY when I’m towing. What have you found out about this?

The sensors are different in the 2020+ trucks.
I enabled all the trailer Blindspot settings through AlfaOBD, they showed in the uconnect but they were all locked and I couldn't change them.

I swapped in blind spot sensors I got off eBay from 2020+ trucks (p/n68442393AE) and all the options unlocked and started working.

you didnt need to change the EVIC or BCM? Just the sensors for a 2020+ vs my 2019 sensors to get the trailer portion to work?

So I have a '21 and when I hook up a gooseneck and select that option it says incompatible trailer and the blind spot monitoring turns off. The dealer and Ram says this is normal. What are my options and how do I get anywhere with Ram when they haven't fixed it yet? I've had numerous things filed with Ram Customer Care already. Need to get it addressed soon as factory warranty will expire soon. Thanks.

They won’t fix it because it was designed to work that way. Many 5th wheels block part or all of the sensor view to the rear, preventing the sensors from being reliable.
