Does anyone know of a source for durable black lugs to fit our trucks? I have powder coated wheels and the shiny ones don’t look so good! I think I like the spike ones Thank you in advance.

Gorilla Automotive Products produce lug nuts in black chrome: http://www.gorilla-auto.com/

Your dealer should be able to source them.

BTW... your winter front intrigues me. I assume it came with the truck and I'm curious as to what the P/N is on the tag that is affixed to the cover. This is why I ask:

I can take a look. If I had the plastic shipping bag it would be easy but the dealer put it on before I picked it up. I just had to hack a hole in it for front camera, took a few try’s but have 95% view now.

I had some ProComp locking nuts on my last truck and they didn't stay black very long, a few tire/rim change-overs and the paint was pretty beat up.

Ya I have even read on the inter-webs of people having trouble with the finish on the gorilla ones

Did you have your rims powder coated, or is that one of the many options I should have looked for but didn't know about? I'm considering having mine either powder coated or painted the same color black as the running boards. I was also unsure of what to do about the nuts, so I'll be following this post.

Thx! There should be label sewn onto the inside edge of the lower left corner of the cover. Gotta love that new stuff that comes with a new vehicle but requires the owner to hack it up to make it work.

Sorry been busy feeding cows and plowing snow. The dealer had them powder coated As part of the deal, they ’’said’’ the cost was $600 Canadian. I tried to order a Night edition but they couldn’t get it through so they just ordered a Sport in case I wanted it.

No worries on the delay. Would you mind posting a closer pic of the rim when you get a chance? It will be nice to make sure I’ll be happy with it. They look good in the first photo you posted. As for price, I’ve been told to expect between 125 and 150 per wheel American, so I think you got a decent price.

Finally stopped snowing so here are some picks. The dealer payed for the coating but it took a while to get the black center caps so they could match it up.

Thank you! You’ve confirmed that I want to get this done. You’ve also let me know I can order the center caps. Do you happen to have the part number? Thanks, again!

Sorry I don’t know the number. The dealer ordered them. Supposedly the coaters said that there were 3 colours of black so there was a wait to get the caps before they would cook them up. Also there is a part number help thread elsewhere on this forum.

Sorry for the delay, it finally stopped snowing. I checked where you said but the numbers where already smudged fr the salt and moisture. Factoid says made by Covercraft

No worries - thx. I can make out enough of the P/N on your tag (upper left corner) to confirm that your cover is a revision to the cover I rec'd with the truck. Mine is 68440614AB. Yours is 68440614AC. My dealer parts guru dug the revised number up and it shows as being unavailable from the the manufacturer until late Dec 19. Although Covercraft has been making winter grill covers for decades, the manufacturer in this instance is CoverKing.

And about that salt... I can remember quite vividly the days when they maintained winter roads on the prairies without the use of hundreds of tons of salt. The roads were exponentially better to drive on. Now we got thousands of kms of greasy, slippery skating rinks masquerading as roads. And everything is covered in salt!

While this thread isn't too awfully old....

I ran across these lug nuts when searching for lug nuts for another vehicle. I have no intention of spending $700 for a set of these black anodized titanium lug nuts. But it did get me wondering if this style would work on our trucks, and if anyone has ever tried a style something like this. I'm more interested for security reasons. Here's where they come from, with description. They are available in M14-1.5.

A little late with my input, but if you haven't pulled the trigger on a set of spiked lug nuts check out Custom Offsets. Great people who will help you out in a pinch.
