I have a 2021 2500 tradesman with 275 70 18. I lowered my spare tire down today to install a tailpipe and I don't see how anything taller than a 275 70 18 will fit between the heat shield and receiver hitch.

I wanted to order 5 295 70 18 toyo at3's but I don't think the spare would go back up. I can still order 4 at3's but I wanted a matching spare because I have the no spin rear diff.

Its a pain to put the spare on the front if I have a rear tire flat and move a front to the rear. Has anyone figured out how to get a bigger spare in there?

Toyo RT35/12.5-17 fits fine..which should be a bit bigger than an at3 295/70-18 34.8 vs 34.3

It will fit, it just requires some persuasion. I installed a 35 on my 2014 and it did require it to be aired down to 30ish psi first.

Someone in another thread said if you have a flat on your off-road tires and you have a stock spare, just move the good off-road tires to the back and keep the stock only on the front and run in 2wd. Should get you somewhere at least.

I fit a BFG 35 on the spare rim up in there with 45 PSI of air in it. I trimmed the front off the heat shield.
I have to lower the back, raise the front of the tire till it clears the track bar. Then it fits just fine.

I have a wildpeak at3 295/70/18 under there fully aired up. No issues. 2019 2500. It’s a crew cab long bed not sure if that matters vs short bed
