Been looking at getting the BFG KO2’s as a replacement for the Firestone HT’s. I am wanting a good all terrain tire with a lot of towing and highway. What seems to be the best? And should I keep stock size or go bigger? Thanks!

lots of hwy towing with minimal to zero off road, I'd stick to factory tire size with a road / hwy oriented tread pattern. no need for an a/t tire.

I want an AT tire just in case I need it in the mud or wet grass just because you never know where I may end up. And I will do some light off-roading

I had KO2's on my previous truck and was not impressed by them, especially their rock holding capability. I drive a gravel road every day and they seemed to pickup and throw every blasted rock on the road! On this truck I decided to try the Falken Wildpeak AT3 and went one size up to LT285/65R20. I love these tires way more than the KO2, hardly throw any rocks, ride smooth, virtually no noise and they behave fine when towing our trailer. I did use alfaOBD to change the tire size as well as change the air pressure settings so I can run the rear lower when not towing.

If you’re looking for 3 peak mountain tires:

Toyo Open Country AT 3
BFG KO2
Cooper Discoverer AT3
Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail
Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT
Kendra Klever A/T2 KR628
Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015
Falken Wildpeak A/T3W

lots of good at tires. Toyo, Nitto, Micky Thompson, Cooper, Falken, BFG, Yokohama all make good at's. you should list what truck you have.
in that case I'd say either a yokohama geolander or the toyo atIII tires. I love my atIII's. fantastic tire.

I would suggest Nitto EXO Grapplers. Great E rated AT tire that is also good on the highway. They are Twin Peaks rated for snow also.

I'm currently using the General Grabber ATX in stock size and will be getting another set when my 22 comes in. Most of my use is highway, with an occasional forest service road. My truck is used for plowing, and I find they are great for both deep and packed snow. Highway noise is pretty minimal.

I do towing, distance highway, and offroad and I'm really loving my Falken Wildpeaks.

edit: They also did excellent on the snow and ice during the great freeze this year.

Falken Wildpeak AT3W are Snow Rated
Off Roading, Rain, Snow, Ice, Towing 9800lb vacation trailer, all outstanding. Not so good in soft sand unless you air down to at most 15psi (otherwise you will easily dig a hole you can't get out of).

Another Vote for Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. Had BFG KO2's previously and they were ok except for being a nightmare to balance, but the Falkens are just as good and better in most cases and they were extremely reasonably priced vs the BFGs.

My one beef with Falken At3w's is unless you can look at them in person they can be made in USA, China or Thailand. My last set were made in Thailand and my buddy had a set and 4 were made in USA and one in China and the tire shop mounted one of the USA made ones as his spare. I would have just mounted as a spare if it were me. Some people don't mind China made tires but they bug me.
