Bed lowering mode and load stabilizing bars for a trailer

I use the bed lowering mode to hook up my 39 ft travel trailer. Once lowered, should I turn off the vehicle to disengage the load leveling when hooking up my load stabilizing bars? The reason, when I connect the load stabilizing bars, I use the trailer jack to remove the weight on the bars so I can easily lock them into the trailer tongue. If I keep the suspension in auto leveling or alternate trailer mode, the bed tries to level when the trailer is connected and I'm jacking up the back end. In the bed lowering mode, I'm assuming the auto suspension leveling is bypassed, which is why they say to "lower" when changing a tire.

Just need confirmation from those that know - "using Bed Lowering will disengage the auto suspension and by raising /lowering the backend the truck, it will not try to "level" whether the truck is on or off
