Not towing anything with this truck, trans temps are always in good range so not interested in any added benefits from extra fluid they hold (BD holds 1qt more than PPE) only want one for the ease of draining fluid.
Both are about the same price (with BD currently is on sale with 10% off) so really they're the same, just looking to see if anyone has had or heard of any issues with either pan. As I'm driving my truck on oilfield lease roads which are often dirt/gravel, I don't want to get a hole in a pan from bouncing rock, etc... So any issues with either?

I would drop your pan and weld a bung in it with a magnetic drain plug, cost 20$ and not low hanging and strong

That's genius, why I didn't think of it. Will do just that!
Be sure to weld a bung that will be flush inside of the pan so you don’t have any oil left in the pan, makes pan removal way cleaner

Ordered this (plus the same thread aluminium magnetic plug with copper crush washers):
Looking at it, it would be pretty flush with the bottom of the pan, if there's a little oil left in there it's nowhere near as bad as taking the pan off the way it's designed.

you have the aisin? My 24 has a drain plug from the factory. so maybe swap out to a newer pan?
